Privacy Policy

Remind is a reminder and task-scheduling app. This page explains what information we collect, how it's used, and how it's stored. We aim to collect only what's needed to make the app work.

What we collect

When you create an account and use Remind, we store:

• Your email address, used for sign-in and (if you choose) email delivery of reminders
• Reminder content you create — titles, notes, due dates, and any to-do items
• Recipient email addresses or phone numbers if you set up reminder delivery
• PDF files you choose to attach to a reminder
• Basic account metadata such as when your account was created

Cookies and local storage

Remind uses two categories of cookies and browser storage. The first category is strictly necessary — always active, since the app cannot function without it:

• Authentication session — keeps you signed in between visits (managed by Firebase Authentication)
• Theme preference — remembers whether you're using light or dark mode
• Draft autosave — temporarily saves an in-progress reminder you haven't submitted yet, stored only on your device
• Cookie consent choice — remembers your accept/reject decision below, so you're not asked again

The second category is analytics, which only runs if you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. We use PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand which features are used and find bugs. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or sell any data to advertisers. You can change your decision at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site, which will show the cookie banner again on your next visit.

How your data is stored

All account and reminder data is stored using Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, and Cloud Storage for PDF attachments). Data is encrypted in transit and at rest using Firebase's standard security infrastructure. Access is restricted so that only you can read or modify your own reminders.

Email and SMS delivery

If you set up email or SMS delivery for a reminder, the message content and recipient address are sent through a third-party provider (such as Gmail, Zoho, Resend, or Twilio, depending on configuration) at the scheduled time. These providers process the message solely to deliver it and are bound by their own privacy and data-handling terms.

Calendar import

If you choose to import events from Google Calendar, either by uploading an exported .ics file or connecting via the Google Calendar API, only the event details you select are imported and stored as reminders. We do not access your calendar without your explicit action.

Data retention and deletion

Reminders and attached PDFs are kept until you delete them or close your account. You can delete individual reminders at any time from the dashboard. To request full account deletion, contact us using the details below.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Since Remind doesn't sell data or share it with advertisers, most of these rights are already fully supported through the app itself — you can view, edit, and delete your reminders directly.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is used, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
